What started as a few posts on instagram to poke fun at ultra high-definition phone photography, rampant hashtagging, and social media bots has blossomed into an artistic pursuit all its own. Now, maxzoom.photography is a testament to the high-pixelation art that results from “getting much too close from very far away”, and is host to such classics as Very Zoomed in Eel, The Roller Coaster Scream, and of course, Turkey Wild.

Tools for optimizing maxzoom photography are shared and occasionally, submissions from guest artists are featured, allowing a community to grow and thrive around this concept.
